Madeline Finn and the Library Dog by Lisa Papp
Madeline Finn DOES NOT like to read. Not books. Not magazines. Not even the menu on the ice cream truck.
Then Madeline Finn meets Bonnie, an adorable library dog. Bonnie is very patient. She doesn’t mind when Madeline misses a word or when she goes slow. As a matter of fact, it’s actually fun to read when you have the support of a friend.
When I saw this new picture book, I had to read it. We have a similar program at the library where I work. Young children, who are learning to read, share a book with a canine friend. I have seen up close and personal how the children light up when they read to a dog. I am so glad Ms. Papp was smart enough to write a story about this program. The story is a delight and will warm your heart.
