ONE DAY IN THE EUCAYPTUS, EUCALYPTUS TREE puts a unique spin on the familiar story of THERE WAS AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED A FLY. I haven’t shared this book with the children in my story time yet, but I plan to next time I do a jungle-themed story time. The tale begins when a boy skips along with a whirly-twirly toy to the shade of the eucalyptus, eucalyptus tree. This resourceful little boy finds himself in a mess. He has plenty of friends to keep him company while he tries to outwit a shifty serpent.
The vivid illustrations by Brendan Wenzel evoke the feeling of a tropical rain forest. Children will be delighted by the story and the illustrations!
